Pressed flowers would make beautiful art materials that can be used for the creation of homemade gifts such as cards, frames, jewelry and many more.
Here are two of the easy art projects that you can make good use of those pressed flowers and you can even have fun doing each of them.
Pressed Flower Cards
For this art project you will need the following materials:
- Pressed flowers
- One piece of card stock sheet
- Glue
- Any heavy book
- Coloring pens
Place the pressed flowers on top of the card and use your creative ability to make your own design. You can then arrange the flowers accordingly.
You can either apply the glue at the back of the flowers or on the card.
Place the flowers gently on the card and tap them slowly.
After you are through pasting all of the pressed flowers, you can then place a heavy book on top of the card and keep it there for six hours.
After such time, remove the book and you can make decorations on the card with the coloring pens.
You can then write your message on the card and send it to someone special, or you can keep it for future use to be given for any particular occasion. If you feel like it, you can make more pressed flower cards to be given out in due time.
Pressed Flower Frame
This art project requires the following items:
- Pressed flowers, stems and leaves
- A piece of white paper cut into the size of the frame
- Paints of various colors
- Picture frame
- Glue
- A heavy book
From the pressed flowers that you intend to use for this project, choose the background colors that you will paint the paper with according to the design that you have conceptualized. Allow the painted paper to dry.
Apply the glue either on the paper or at the back of the flowers, stems and leaves.
Place the heavy book on top of the paper and let it stay there for at least six hours.
Afterwards, you can remove the book and the decorated paper will serve as the picture that you will insert in the frame.
You then have a pressed flower frame that you can mount or hang on the wall, or you can wrap it inside a special wrapper and give it to a loved one on any occasion.
