Make sure to have a ready supply of materials which you can buy from arts and crafts stores, as well as new project ideas that you can make together.

Here are some crafts that will give all of you lots of fun and will enhance your kids’ imagination.

Squeeze Ball

For this project prepare the following items:

  • A Balloon;
  • A Funnel; and
  • Cornstarch.

First, blow air into the balloon so it can stretch out. Insert the funnel into the untied end of the balloon. Pour the cornstarch inside and stop only when the balloon is already tight though not yet too stretched.

You can then tie the end to shut the balloon tightly. Your kids can get to enjoy their squeeze ball and the more it is squeezed, the softer it becomes.

Paper Bag Frog Puppet

For this project you will need the following materials:

  • Two strips of green-colored paper;
  • Scissors;
  • Googly eyes;
  • Glue;
  • Paper bag; and
  • A piece of red-colored paper.

Cut the green pieces of paper into flat shapes on one end and rounded on the other.

Have the flat ends folded underneath while you glue the googly eyes on the rounded ends of the paper.

Fold the ends of the eyes and glue them on the exterior bottom portion of the paper bag to form the frog’s head and mouth.

For the frog’s long tongue, cut the red paper into a tongue shape and glue it into the mouth.

Cut out the green arm and leg shapes and glue them accordingly on both sides of the paper bag.

Adorn the bag with spots of the green paper and voila!, you have a frog puppet.

Straw Sculptures

You will need to prepare the following project materials:

  • Straws cut into different lengths;
  • Scissors; and

Snip a slit at the end portion of some straws. Have the straws inserted into each other through the slits in order to create a distinctive shape. For angled joints, attach the paper clips on them; then have them bent and inserted into the straws.
