You can spend a lot of memorable moments with your little kids and while you’re at it, you’d rather make the most of it. Those delicate times will pass you by so quickly and before you realize it, it will be all over.
Handprint crafts would make great keepsakes that parents can treasure from the moment the kids were still small. As you have kept your kids’ baby prints, now is the time to preserve their handprints while on their very young years.
Here are two handprint crafts that you and your kids can start with and brace yourself for fabulous experiences that will last you a lifetime:
Handprint Poem Crafts
For this craft you will need to print some poems regarding children’s hands by making use of word processing software. Also, you will need the following materials: plates of finger paint that contain the favorite colors of your kids, pieces of white paper, scissors, glue, and a small photo of each child with his name and age.
To create the prints, dip each child’s hands into the finger paint and then press them onto a piece of paper. Allow the print to dry. Afterwards, cut out a poem and glue it onto the paper. Add the photo and you now have a finished handprint craft for one specific child.
You can then proceed with the handprints of the other kids.
Word of caution: Keep each finished handprint craft safely away from the little kids’ hands before they toy with it and spoil the whole thing!
Handprint Butterfly
For this craft you will need the following: pieces of construction paper preferably of two colors, scissors and glue.
While creating a handprint butterfly, you can trace each little child’s hands on the paper while you allow the older kids to trace their own hands. Cut out the construction paper, making pieces of long, oval shapes that will represent the butterfly’s body.
Cut out the handprints and glue them at the back side of the butterfly’s body to create wings. Cut out again the construction paper for the antennae and have it attached to the beautiful paper butterfly.
As time rolls by and the kids have fully grown, you can set a time for the whole family to have a look at such wonderful keepsakes. You will see glimpses of the past and varied emotions.
